After several years of development, starting with Drupal Rooms, and continuing with developing the Roomify brand, the Bluespark team has created a new company to fast-track bringing Roomify products to market.
The new company, called Roomify, aims to provide flexible open-source solutions for reservations that put business owners back in the driver’s seat. Roomify is launching with three ready-to-go solutions: Casa for vacation rentals, Locanda for hotels and B&Bs, and Agency for companies handling multiple properties. The products are available as either hassle-free cloud-based solutions or for installation directly on clients’ existing infrastructure.
“Open source has not penetrated the travel market in a meaningful way, the space is dominated by proprietary software. Roomify is an alternative approach,” says Bluespark founder Michael Tucker. “We believe in Roomify and its growing ecosystem and are excited to spin it off as its own company so that it can better serve its audience and user base.”

Through its availability as an open source tool, Roomify is already being used by more than 1300 sites and has been downloaded over 51,000 times (according to statistics on drupal.org). It has also been adapted to fit a number of other business needs such as equipment rental, cruise event bookings and tour operators.
Bluespark maintains a major stake in Roomify. The Bluespark and Roomify teams plan to continue to work closely together, collaboratively leveraging resources and expertise where there is opportunity to deliver value to new ventures as well as long-standing client relationships.
